Carla Walker-Miller is the Founder and CEO of Walker-Miller Energy Services (Walker-Miller), a values-driven, B Corp certified company headquartered in Detroit, Michigan. With nearly 25 years of experience of transforming lives through energy, Walker-Miller has become one of the largest African American and woman owned clean energy service companies in the country. Starting Walker-Miller after an 18-year corporate career, Carla now leads an experienced team of energy professionals, and on a mission to catalyze equity and excellence, and help deliver the benefits of energy efficiency and beneficial electrification to families and businesses while creating clean energy jobs for underrepresented community members.

 

Carla is a visionary, and respected thought leader on topics of entrepreneurship, diversity, equity and inclusion, clean energy, and workforce development to name a few. In 2021, Walker-Miller became the first Black and woman owned company in Michigan to achieve B Corporation Certification, joining an exclusive global network of around 10,000 “B Corps” in over 70 countries leading the movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.

 

In 2023, Carla convened the inaugural national Resilience and Equity in the Clean Energy Sector Summit (RECESS) in Detroit. Now in its third year, RECESS25 expects to attract 700 attendees, and will again invite Black, Brown and Indigenous people and others without an organic connection to the industry, to lifechanging opportunities.
